Analysis: Wirtz was able to bag a goal contribution Thursday despite the loss, as the attacker would find Leroy Sane in the second minute for an assist. This is Writz's second goal contribution of the tournament, as he also earned an assist in their opener. He is now up to three crosses, eight chances created and eight shots in his three starts, a decent record at the World Cup thus far.

Analysis: Wirtz registered multiple shots and chances created for the second straight time in as many World Cup starts, although he finished without a direct contribution Saturday. He has played all possible minutes, adding plenty of passes from a left-wing role, but he remains with no goals and just one assist throughout the international tournament. He could eventually be at risk of being rested if manager Julian Nagelsmann wants to save his best elements for the knockout stages, which is where they'll need Wirtz's top form.
