He would finally earn his first goal contribution of the tournament as well, finding Nicolas Pepe in the seventh minute for the opener. The assist comes as a well-deserved goal contribution for the young attacker, now with three shots, seven crosses and 10 chances created in his World Cup campaign.

Analysis: Even though Amad Diallo scored the game-winning goal for Ivory Coast, there's no question that Diomande was the best player on the field for the Elephants. Diomande should be one of the busiest players for Ivory Coast in the match against Germany on Saturday, where his pace -- and familiarity due to him playing in the Bundesliga -- could be a game-changer for the African side.
