Suffers muscle injury
Lindelof was forced off in the 88th minute of Thursday's match against Japan due to an apparent muscle injury.
Analysis: Lindelof looked to be going through some extreme cramping Thursday and would need to leave the field, being stretched by medics as he sat on the side of the pitch after his removal. With Sweden set to play in the round of 32 as a third-place qualifier, this is something to watch for the team, as they already lost Isak Hien, with Lindelof expected to move into the defense to fill his role. The team will hope that he is only suffering from a cramp and nothing else is of concern, leaving him fit for the round of 32.
Busy defensively
Lindelof registered four clearances and three interceptions in Saturday's 5-1 loss to Netherlands.
Analysis: Lindelof had everything to do defensively throughout Saturday's loss, piling on defensive volume every time the Netherlands came forward. The defender couldn't stem the tide as the Dutch poured the goals on non-stop. Lindelof's volume was solid, but it's never going to be a good match for a defender in a 5-1 loss.
